Six Flags in Austin! I wish

today i went out with some friends to go to six flags over texas in Dallas. to be honest it was a miserable and exciting experience. Austin is quite a while away from Dallas and the weather differences can be quite large. I knew it was going to rain and it was going to be a high of 53 degress, but you never think about the weather dealing with the situations you will face. For instance, i'm in line to go on the Titan, and it starts raining, not pooring, but more then drizzling. Now, i didn't know that it goes like 85mph, and when you go that fast the rain feels like little needles eating at your face, not a nice experience. Of course, to makeup for it, we rode again three more times in a row when it stopped raining. and it was nice not having hardly any people in the park to take up lines. This brings me to the point, why doens't Austin have a Six Flags? well, that's easy, it's not a characteristic large city. Every major city in the state of Texas: Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio all have Six Flags, but not Austin, which is numero 4. I can understand these things that are left out of Austin. Just recently we added a Nordstroms department store to the largest mall in the city. Wow! a nordstroms, that fad lasted for about 8 months. And then came the Crate and Barrell store, that fad is still going on. Next people will discover that we actually have a Nieman Marcus store and then that will become the undiscovered fad. My point, bring some stuff to austin.

Laguna Gloria

Laguna Gloria is a wonderfully beautiful place in Austin. I believe that the Austin Art Museum owns the grounds. There is a house that is now a part of the Austin Art Museum that shows exhibitions and whatnot. There are also facilities used to teach art classes on the grounds, i took a photography class over the summer. There is also a park called the wayfield park that has an interesting large amount of peacocks around, which makes for wonderful pictures. And incredible flowers all around, which is where these pics came from. Another special thing is that Laguna Gloria itself has an extensive amount of large sculptures throughout the grounds and on trails. It's a wonderful walk especially becuase it's right on Lake Austin, where all the rich people live, and you can see thier humongous mansions, and there docks, with boats. If you're ever in town, don't miss up on Laguna Gloria.

yellow cabs outside the Hilton Posted by Hello

Hey! Taxi

it's so rare to find a cab in downtown austin. the concept of a cab in a downtown or even a city that isn't conventional doesn't really work. donwtown austin only comprises of about a twelve block radius not including UT or soho. so, if you actually find a cab and yell out HEY! TAXI, where are you going to go anyway, i've only seen it been done once, and the guy probably just didn't want to have to walk through the drunk crowd on 6th street to get ot his hotel. As a matter of fact, the only place you will actually find a cabs in large numbers is at major hotels like the Hilton, Driskill, or Four Seasons. So good luck finding a yellow cab the next time you're in austin.

The Hilton

okay, so i'm downtown today, and there's alot of SXSW people here, and we go to see the hilton that was built a year or so ago. i'ts great, tall, and stylish. its almost like they built this hotel so people coming into the city would think that austin was this cool, lively, cultured place (which it is). austin is full of people from all over the country and the world, it's actually one of the most diverse places i've ever been to or lived. but, you have to go looking for that diversity. it's rare to actually just find it out of nowhere. as minority, i sometimes feel akward when i'm the only person who has color not caused by a tan in the room. but, when in doubt, always go to the University of Texas campus, and you'll be sure to find some color, but don't count on finding anything but red and yellow at the hilton.

SXSW in Austin

I went downtown today. There's alot of activity in the city cause of SXSW and so many people. I've never seen so many people in this city. Anyway, i went to the new amazing Whole Foods market today on 5th and Lamar I think it is. IT's amazing, huge for a health foods store, and theres an office building on top. We also went to this southwestern pottery shop where I got some cool pictures. I also got some good pics downtown of all sorts of things.

Living Day by Day

Well, this is my first day writing. It's the first of the year, 2005. I think this year will be good. 2004 was good, kinds reminded me of 2002. It was a great year of movies, like spidy 2, The terminal, Harry Potter 3. 2003 was the end of alot of trilogies, like matrix and LOTR.
Christmas was really lonely, just me and mom, no tree, no decorations. But I can't complain about that, we were too tired to put up decorations. THis is the first year in a while that I got everything I asked for. And what's awesome is I got a Nikon D70 and I didn't have to pay for it.
